SIGNINGS

EVENTS

Young adult writer Daria Snadowsky will discuss "Anatomy of a Boyfriend" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Jewel Box Theater at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. A book signing and reception will follow.

Linda Weaver Clarke, author of "Melinda and the Wild West," will discuss turning family history into stories on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Aliante Library, 2400 Deer Springs Way.

The Summer Reading Program Kick-off Party featuring games, activities and a coral reef exhibit from the Las Vegas Natural History Museum will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Barnes and Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

A magic show for children will be presented at 2 p.m. Thursday by the librarians at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

At the next meeting, the group will be discussing "Planning and Democracy" by Friedrich Hayek from "The Road to Serfdom"; and the Contemporary Fiction Club meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. The Summerlin Library Book Chat Cafe meets at 10:30 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.

The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of each month, and the Murder in the Library club meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and 10 a.m. the following Wednesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month to discuss books written by black authors at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Harry Potter Books and Movie Discussion Group For Adults meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at the Las Vegas Library, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The monthly Poet’s Corner is the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

Several valley bookstores offer story times and special events for children:

Story time with Ann is hosted by Borders bookstore, 2323 S. Decatur Blvd., at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The American Girls Club meets at 4 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month; and Spy Guys meets at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of the month; storytime is offered at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at Barnes and Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
