First Friday highlights art downtown

Put on your walking shoes and head over to First Friday, the monthly cultural open house and street festival in the downtown Las Vegas arts district, 6-10 p.m. Friday.

Activities take place throughout the arts district, including the Arts Factory, 101-109 E. Charleston Blvd.; S2 Art, 1 E. Charleston Blvd.; the Holsum Lofts, 231 W. Charleston Blvd.; the Commerce Street Studios, 1551 S. Commerce St.; galleries along Main Street; and other nearby facilities.

Live performances and entertainment, including Steve McCoy, DJVJ Carey C, Black Beans N Hippie Liver and Jackie Constant, will be presented on the Land Rover Stage at Colorado Avenue and Casino Center Boulevard.

Free parking and trolley transportation is available at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway and the El Cortez/First Friday Express Trolley is available at the El Cortez, 600 Fremont St.
