  • The JDRF Nevada Chapter’s Walk to Cure Diabetes is scheduled at 10 a.m. Oct 25 at north field at UNLV, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. On site registration is scheduled at 9 a.m. The local chapter of JDRF ( Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) has set a $542,000 fundraising goal to help fund research toward preventing, treating and curing type 1 diabetes and its complications.   • The Moapa Valley Cornmaze, on Lewis Ranch Road in Moapa, is scheduled to welcome visitors from noon to 7 p.m. for daytime activities and 8 to 11 p.m. for the Haunted Corn Maze daily through Oct. 31.   • The Boneyard Bash is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Neon Museum, 770 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Festivities are set to include entertainment, appearances by the Las Vegas cast of “Evil Dead: The Musical,” food trucks, free beer, a signature cocktail and a cash bar featuring wine and cocktails. Following the bash, ticket holders can head to Velveteen Rabbit for an afterparty to include a complimentary Halloween cocktail and free makeup application by professional makeup artists.   • Jason Robert Brown’s musical “The Last 5 Years” tells the story of two New Yorkers who dive head first into a marriage. The action follows a unique progression with the wife starting at end of the marriage going backward and the husband telling it from the beginning.   • On Nov. 7, the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association is set to host its annual Salute to Flight Crews during the dress rehearsal of Aviation Nation at Nellis Air Force Base.   • Registration is open for the seventh annual Scale the Strat fundraising stair climb scheduled for March 1. Scale the Strat is scheduled concurrently with the third annual USA Stair Climb Championship, which is expected to attract elite stair climbers from all over the world and allow amateur climbers the opportunity to rub elbows with the best athletes in the sport as they climb the stairs in the Stratosphere Tower. An early bird discount rate of $40 is available before Dec. 31. Climbers are also asked to make a minimum $150 fundraising pledge for the American Lung Association.
