LITTLE THEATRE
SETS ‘PLAY DATES’
Love makes the world go ’round — for everyone from kindergarten classmates to burned-out married couples — in “Play Dates.”
The comedy, from “Jewtopia” playwright Sam Wolfson, opens a three-weekend run tonight at Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive.
In three linked acts, “Play Dates” explores love from a variety of angles — whether couples are falling in love, falling out or trying to find each other.
The play’s first act, “Boy Meets Girl,” introduces Sam (played by Frank Gambino Jr.) and Stacey (April Sauline), who meet cute and trade snappy banter — on the school playground.
As the second act, reveals, however, Sam and Stacey aren’t necessarily forever, because Sam has grown up to be radio’s “Dr. Love,” dispenser of tough romantic advice — despite the fact he’s never quite gotten over his kindergarten crush.
But perhaps Dr. Love can help revive the spark between Mike (Daryl Thomas) and Katie (Kim Glover), whose marriage has cooled off since their “Honeymoon Period.”
Katie Bulava and Paul Cieslewicz round out the “Play Dates” cast for director Walter Niejadlik .
“Play Dates” plays at 8 tonight and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday; performances continue at 8 p.m. March 1-3 and March 8-10, with 2 p.m. matinees March 3, 4 and 11. Tickets are $24 ($21 for seniors and students) and are available online at www.lvlt.org/tickets.html or by calling 362-7996.

GOLDEN RAINBOW TAKES
OFF WITH FOSSE TRIBUTE
Gotta dance? Then you gotta know Bob Fosse, the Oscar- and Tony-winning dancer, choreographer and director whose musical credits stretch from “Sweet Charity” to “Cabaret” to “All That Jazz.”
RagTag Entertainment re-creates some of Fosse’s greatest hits in “Take Off With Us: A Tribute to Bob Fosse,” which wraps up a three-performance run at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Ovation at Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson.
In addition to the title number (from “All That Jazz,” Fosse’s semiautobiographical 1979 movie musical), “Take Off With Us” includes such showstoppers as “Big Spender” from “Sweet Charity” — which Fosse directed and choreographed on Broadway before making his directorial debut with the 1969 movie adaptation.
Performers Traci Kesisian and Savannah Smith from “Vegas! The Show” lead the cast of “Take Off With Us,” which is directed and choreographed by Giulio Scatola .
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at any Station Casinos box office or by calling (800) 745-3000.
A portion of the proceeds benefit Golden Rainbow, the nonprofit organization that helps Southern Nevada HIV/AIDS patients with housing and direct financial assistance.
Music
INDIE ROCKERS ROCK
WINCHESTER CENTER
Las Vegas indie rockers Kid Meets Cougar will debut a new seven-song recording at a 7 p.m. concert today at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
In addition to the new recording, Kid Meets Cougar (alias Brett Bolton and Courtney Carroll) will debut a new lighting system at tonight’s show.
Financed by the crowd-funding website Kickstarter, the new system projects images and lights onto a video screen — and the musicians, enabling them to improvise with live and recorded sound, lighting and video.
Singer-songwriter Mike Weller’s band Hungry Cloud, DJ Totescity and Twin Brother also are scheduled to perform tonight.
Tickets are $10; information is available at 455-7340 or www.ClarkCountyNV.gov/parks.
