99 Words About … The secrecy of ‘Mad Men’

It’s as though nobody wants new viewers for the final season of “Mad Men” (10 p.m. Sunday, AMC).

Creator Matthew Weiner is so spoiler-phobic, he doesn’t even want you knowing the year these episodes take place. Here’s the official description of the premiere: “Don makes a new friend. Joan meets a client for drinks. Peggy hears impressive new work. Roger has a puzzling phone call.” Does that sound like something anyone would clamor to see? I think I’m allowed to say Roger’s “state of affairs” is alarming. And Pete, once again, provides the best bits.

But don’t tell anybody.
