99 Words About … The ‘Entourage’-ness of HBO’s ‘Silicon Valley’

It’s exactly like “Entourage.”

Without the fame. Or the money. Good looks. Fancy houses. Expensive cars. Gorgeous women. Social skills. And, well, you get the idea.

Mike Judge’s “Silicon Valley” (10 p.m. Sunday, HBO) follows Richard (Thomas Middleditch), a computer programmer who stumbles across a groundbreaking compression algorithm and becomes a pawn in a feud between tech billionaires.

But he always has his, umm, entourage: his programmer roommates, each more awkward than the last.

The comedy spoofs the tech world’s excesses much like Judge’s “Office Space” skewered cubicle dwellers.

It’s just more likable than laugh-out-loud funny.

Also, like “Entourage.”
