99 Words About … Fox’s nostalgic ‘Surviving Jack’

It’s the most heartwarming sitcom you’ll see all year in which teenage boys steal porno mags from some homeless men.

In “Surviving Jack” (9:30 p.m. Thursday, KVVU-TV, Channel 5), a gruff ex-military man (Christopher Meloni) is left in charge of the kids for the first time when his wife (Rachael Harris) enrolls in law school.

Set in 1991, it’s heavy on questionable parenting and nostalgia. Think “The Goldbergs” with less yelling.

Meloni’s anything-goes wild card is the show’s only real draw.

But considering it comes from the guys responsible for “$h*! My Dad Says,” at least that’s a start.
