2 men stabbed during separate robberies in Las Vegas

Las Vegas police are investigating a possible link between two robberies that ended in stabbings Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

A man was stabbed just before 11 p.m. Wednesday during a robbery in the 2800 block of South Eastern Avenue, according to Metropolitan Police Department officer Mike Rodriguez. Four men pulled up in a four-door sedan of unkownn color and stole the man’s cellphone and wallet before one of them stabbed him in the chest.

He was taken to the University Medical Center in unknown condition, Rodriguez said.

The second man was robbed early Thursday morning, just after midnight, in front of his home on the 9900 block of Concho River Avenue, near West Sunset Road and South Grand Canyon Drive, according to Metro Lt. David Gordon.

Four men pulled up in a similar sedan and approached the man, then took his cellphone and unsuccessfully tried to take his car, Gordon said.

One of the robbers stabbed the man in the chest before the group took off. The injured man was taken to the medical center and is in good condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Rodriguez said the two robberies and stabbings are “possibly” related. No arrests have been made.
