Police investigate shooting at store near downtown Las Vegas

A customer was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon at a business near downtown Las Vegas, police said.

Metropolitan Police Department officers responded about 2:45 p.m. to the 2000 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near Eastern Avenue, Lt. Nate Chio said.

Chio said the shooting appeared to be the result of an attempted robbery at a clothing store.

The customer shot was hospitalized at University Medical Center, he said.
