Police arrest man in connection with Saturday morning shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with the man shot and killed early Saturday morning in the central valley, Las Vegas police said in a statement.
Metro’s criminal apprehension team brought Alexis Gallardo, 20, into custody on Tuesday in connection with Saturday’s shooting, the release said. He was found in the 3500 block of Swenson Street, where he was arrested without incident.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces one charge of murder with a deadly weapon, the release said.
Ernesto Chacon, a 24-year-old Las Vegas resident, was shot in the head inside his car, the Clark County coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
Police responded about 2:15 a.m., to a parking lot in the 4300 block of South Jones Boulevard, near West Rochelle Avenue, after receiving a report of a man being shot in a car, the release said. Police found Chacon in his vehicle, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said Chacon was shot by a passenger when he parked the vehicle.
