Police are investigating a pair of shootings that took place Friday night in the Las Vegas Valley.

A husband and wife who died in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday have been identified as Ramon Elias Mejia-Vidal, 45, and Yvette Lidia Mejia, 49, both of Las Vegas.
It marked the Metropolitan Police Department’s third police shooting of the year.
“It is so important that we come up with a memorial that we can all be proud of, one that best reflects the wishes of those affected,” said Mynda Smith, whose sister died in the mass shooting.
The man shot was armed with a knife, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. No officers were injured.
