Man wounded in shooting near downtown Las Vegas

Updated August 27, 2019 - 8:49 am

A man was hospitalized after a shooting early Tuesday at an extended-stay apartment complex north of downtown Las Vegas.

About 5:10 a.m., several residents of the Siegel Suites at 700 Las Vegas Blvd. North, near Bonanza Road, called 911 to report gunshots and screaming at the complex, said Lt. David Gordon of the Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was hospitalized with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, said Gordon.

A possible gunman fled east on nearby Wilson Street in an older model four-door sedan, according to Gordon. As of about 8 a.m., an officer guarding the perimeter of the crime scene told the Review-Journal that police had not taken anyone into custody.

Anyone with information may call Metro at 702-828-3111 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
