Las Vegas police investigating fatal shooting near truck stop

Las Vegas police were searching for a man who is believed to have shot and killed a man behind a truck stop Friday afternoon in the northeastern valley.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, police were called to the 12000 block of Apex Great Basin Way, where officers found a man with gunshot wounds. The man died at the scene, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Ken Romane said.

Police said a man in his 60s is a suspect. Metro Lt. Miguel Ibarra said late Friday night the man had not been arrested.

The man who was killed was not identified Friday.
