Las Vegas men arrested after fight, gunfire at store, report says

Las Vegas police accused a man of getting into a fight with a tire store employee and later returning with a second man, who shot at the worker, police documents show.

Tyler Neal, 19, and Ernest Armour, 22, were each jailed Thursday in Clark County Detention Center, where they remained Friday night. They face attempted murder among other charges, jail records show.

A Metropolitan Police Department arrest report accuses Armour of getting into a fight with an employee after the employee made “disrespectful” comments to Neal’s mother.

Police said Neal picked up Armour in a car after the scuffle. With Armour in the passenger seat, Neal returned in a red Chrysler Pacifica and shot from his car into the tire shop, trying to hit the employee, the arrest report said.

Metro initially responded on reports of the fight just before 7 a.m. Thursday. They arrived at the tire shop on the 4300 block of North Lamb Boulevard, near Craig Road, and learned the employee was walking to a nearby convenience store when a woman asked him for money.

The woman was Neal’s mother, the report said, and she told police the employee said he’d give her money in exchange for oral sex. She shared the comments with Armour, who is her neighbor and was nearby at the time, according to the report.

Armour tried to get his pit bull to attack the man, the report said, “but the dog refused and did not seem to be an aggressive dog.”

Armour said he had a gun on him, prompting the employee to punch him and initiate the fight, the report said. Armour walked away and was picked up by a man in a car. As they were driving away, a witness told police, Armour “signaled to him and (the employee) with his hand as if he was shooting them,” according to the report.

About five minutes after police cleared the scene, they received a shooting call from the same address. The arrest report said Neal shot at least six times toward the business.

The report said animal control officials used the dog’s chip to identify Armour as a suspect and find his address. Police set up a perimeter around two houses, one of which had a red SUV parked in front, and used a bullhorn to command the occupants to exit. Armour and Neal eventually walked out, the report said.

In an interview with police, Neal said he was sleeping during the incident.
