Police investigating sex assault in Las Vegas park
Updated June 21, 2019 - 4:28 pm
Police on Friday are searching for a man who threatened a woman with a box cutter and sexually assaulted her at a northwest Las Vegas Valley park on Thursday.
The assault was reported just before 10:55 a.m. Thursday at W. Wayne Bunker Family Park, 7351 W. Alexander Road. A woman had drove to the park to go for a run, and while jogging she saw a man holding a drill and wearing a “construction type reflective vest” standing by a shipping container, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release sent Friday afternoon.
As the woman was walking back to her car, the man came up behind her and pushed her to the ground. The man threatened the woman with a box cutter and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The suspect is described as a older man about 6-feet, 2-inches tall with a thin build, police said. He had a bushy, gray or salt-and-pepper beard with a gap between his front teeth. He was last seen wearing a tan fisherman hat, a charcoal gray long-sleeve shirt, green cargo pants and a yellow reflective construction vest.
