Prison inmate dies at Summerlin Hospital

An inmate died early Monday morning at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, the Nevada Department of Corrections said in a statement.

The department reported that Gary Bernard Linzy died at 4:14 a.m. in the hospital.

Linzy, 63, was committed to High Desert State Prison from Clark County on Nov. 9, 2015, and was serving 30 to 96 months for second degree kidnapping and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon enhancement.

The Clark County coroner responded, and an autopsy is being scheduled per Nevada Revised Statute 209.3815. Next of kin have been notified.
