Police looking for man who choked, robbed woman in southeast Las Vegas

Las Vegas police are searching for a man who choked and robbed a woman Thursday in the southeast valley.

Around 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the 1100 block of Dumont Boulevard near Maryland Parkway and Cambridge Street. Upon arrival, officers located a woman who was the victim of a strong-arm robbery.

Police said the woman was walking in the area when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man choked the woman, rendering her unconscious, took property from her and then fled in an unknown direction.

The man is described as black, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, bluejeans and white tennis shoes.
