Gordon Driver of Henderson is facing federal charges in what the U.S. attorney in Los Angeles said was a $15 million Ponzi scheme. Driver, 54, was arrested in Las Vegas this month on charges including mail and wire fraud.
A federal jury took less than an hour Wednesday to convict a former Henderson firefighter on five counts of trying to evade more than $130,000 in taxes between 2004 and 2008.
Four men have been indicted by a grand jury in the kidnapping of 17-year-old Melissa Duran from her Henderson home in August for a $100,000 ransom. The men are held at the Clark County Detention Center on $2 million bail.
