Woman suspected of fatally shooting brother in North Las Vegas

A woman suspected of fatally shooting her 63-year-old brother early Monday inside their North Las Vegas has been arrested.

Christie Reed, 52, was taken into custody Monday night in connection with the shooting. She was booked at the Las Vegas Detention Center on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

North Las Vegas police received reports of the shooting about 1:30 a.m. in the 5400 block of Dilly Circle, near West Ann Road and North Decatur Boulevard, department spokesman Aaron Patty said.

The initial investigation showed the brother and sister were arguing before the shooting. No one else was inside the residence during the incident, Patty said.

Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

This is the 53rd homicide in Clark County and the fifth investigated by North Las Vegas police in 2017.
