Las Vegas police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting last week at a northeast Las Vegas home.
Tiderrick Thompson was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday, jail records show.
Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Ray Spencer confirmed Wednesday that Thompson was arrested in connection with the killing of 37-year-old Raymie Henderson of Las Vegas.
Police were called about 5:40 p.m. May 9 to a home on the 3200 block of Lava Avenue, near Owens Avenue and Mojave Road, after receiving reports that a man had been shot, Metro has said.
Officers found Henderson dead at the scene. His death was ruled a homicide due to gunshot wounds, the Clark County coroner’s office has said.
Henderson’s girlfriend and her daughter were living at the home where the shooting happened, according to an arrest report.
On May 9, the girlfriend was arguing with Henderson via text message, saying that his friends were at the home and were fighting, the report said. Henderson returned to the home with a man police later identified as Thompson.
While the woman was in her bedroom, she heard gunshots and saw Thompson and another man “tussling,” the report said. After she heard more gunshots, Thompson forced himself into the woman’s room and demanded her cell phone, she told police.
“Thompson told the woman he had done a good thing by killing (redacted) because (redacted) was a ‘bad guy,’” the report said.
Thompson was later linked to a car that was taken from the home after the shooting and identified in a photo lineup, the report said. He has been charged with murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon, court records show.
Thompson has an arrest history in Clark County dating to 2018, court records show.
Thompson pleaded guilty to an attempted home invasion felony charge in February 2018, according to online court records.
He also has at least three additional court cases currently open. On Jan. 5, he was charged in North Las Vegas Justice Court with a felony count of carrying a concealed explosive or firearm and a gross misdemeanor count of importing or possessing a dangerous weapon.
In April, he was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary of a motor vehicle, Las Vegas Justice Court records show.
On Wednesday, he was charged in a separate North Las Vegas Justice Court case with a felony count of battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor count of battery.
Further information about the other court cases were not immediately available.
Thompson remained in jail on Wednesday without bail, court records show.
