Police investigating suspicious death in south Las Vegas

Homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death Saturday in the southern valley, Las Vegas police said.

Police responded about 11:35 a.m. to reports of a man who shot himself inside a house in the 5000 block of Tioga Pass Avenue, near Decatur Boulevard and Windmill Lane, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Nate Chio said.

The Clark County coroner responded and saw something at the scene that prompted Metro homicide detectives to investigate, he said. Chio said he didn’t know what the suspicious circumstances were.

The coroner’s office will identify the deceased person as well as determine his cause and manner of death.

No further information was immediately available.
