McDonald’s shooting leaves man dead east of Las Vegas Strip

Updated November 26, 2024 - 2:00 pm

Several people were inside a McDonald’s east of the Strip when one man fatally shot another, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price said Monday evening.

Police responded to a call at 4:46 p.m. of a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. They transported him to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

In a news release Tuesday, police said that detectives determined the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with a male before entering the business. The male then returned to the business with another man and shot the victim, according to authorities.

Both men fled the area on foot after the shooting, the release said.

“This does not appear to be a random act,” Price said.

He added that there is no connection to another shooting in front of the Palazzo, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.

Police asked anyone with information to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
