Man shot to death near Flamingo, Pecos Monday night

A man is dead after a shooting in the east Las Vegas Valley Monday night.

Officers arrived at 3223 E. Flamingo Road, near Pecos Road, just after 9 p.m. in response to a man “screaming for help,” according to Metro Lt. Sean McNulty.

Police found a man with one gunshot wound. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Homicide investigators determined that four to five males between 18 and 20 were seen fleeing the area shortly after the shooting, but police do not know if they were involved, McNulty said.

Detectives believe the shooting may have been the result of a failed drug deal. This is the 50th homicide Metro has investigated this year.

The identity of the dead man will be released once his family has been notified.

Anyone with information about the incident may contact the homicide unit or Crime Stoppers at 702-355-5555.
