Man killed in east valley shooting identified

The man shot and killed at an east Las Vegas Valley apartment Tuesday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Maurice Ramon White Jr., 23, of Las Vegas was in the apartment with the tenant and other family members when another man kicked in the front door and gunshots were heard, police said.

White died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner.

Metro responded to the apartment complex, 1416 Sandhill Road, near Pecos Road and Washington Avenue, about 2 a.m., police said.

Upon arrival, officers found White. He was taken to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, Metro spokesman officer Larry Hadfield said.
