Las Vegas police are investigating after a male was fatally stabbed early Saturday. Police said they suspect the victim’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department Sunday, police responded to a call of a stabbing just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Harvard Street, near Decatur Boulevard and U.S. Highway 95.

Officers arrived to find a male with apparent stab wounds inside a home.

“The investigation by Metro’s homicide section indicates the victim was at a residence with his girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend entered the home and stabbed the victim,” the press release said.

The suspect fled before officers arrived, police said.

The male was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office, police said.
