Man dies in North Las Vegas shooting

A shooting in North Las Vegas left one dead Friday night, police said.

Around 7 p.m. officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1800 block of Belmont Street near East Tonopah Avenue. Arriving officers found a 29-year-old North Las Vegas man inside a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical crews took the man in critical condition to University Medical Center where he later died.

A preliminary investigation indicates there was a disturbance at the residence prior to the shooting. No suspects are in custody at this time.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s identity and offical cause and manner of death following notification of family.
