Man booked on murder charge in December death of 3-year-old Las Vegas girl

A man has been arrested in connection with the December homicide of a 3-year-old Las Vegas girl.

Brandon Smith, 28, was arrested Thursday and faces one count of first-degree murder, according to Clark County Detention Center records.

Smith is accused of killing Ma’Liyah Collins, whose death was ruled a homicide last week by the Clark County coroner.

According to the coroner, the girl died Dec. 23 from multiple blunt force injuries to the torso.

The relationship between Smith and Collins is not known.
