Las Vegas police arrest 2nd man in connection with deadly brawl

A second man was arrested in connection with an April brawl that left one man dead and another shot, records show.

Cory Nixon, 23, was booked into county jail Saturday and is being held without bail, jail records show. He faces charges of murder, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and battery with use of a deadly weapon.

Nixon was arrested in connection with the death of Michael Rodney Reiger, 48, who died after an April 26 fight at the apartment complex at 5100 O’Bannon Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard. Another man was shot during the brawl.

Nixon told police he used a tire repair tool resembling an ice pick to stab Reiger and the other wounded man during the fight, a police report shows.

Police arrested Nathan Ivey on May 2 in connection with the killing. He is also being held without bail in county jail on the same charges Nixon faces.
