Man arrested, suspected in fatal shooting of neighbor in area north of Strip
A man was shot and killed Saturday night just north of the Strip.
Around 9:05 p.m., the Metropolitan Police Department received a call about a shooting in the 200 block of West Chicago Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the courtyard area.
The man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have arrested 47-year-old Alexander Ayres, who is suspected of fatally shooting the victim after he left his apartment that night. Ayres was booked on suspicion of open murder, according to Metro.
