Coroner IDs burned body found at Las Vegas apartment complex

Updated March 16, 2017 - 4:28 pm

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the 20-year-old woman found dead at a west valley apartment complex last week.

Geranique Bentley’s body was discovered Saturday at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Rock Springs Drive. Her body had been partially burned, and detectives said it appeared her body had been set on fire at the apartment complex.

Bentley was found guilty of possessing methamphetamine last summer, records show. She was due to appear in court for a status check next month.

She also pleaded guilty to battery charges in November 2015 after biting a police officer.

Bentley’s cause of death will be released by the coroner. Police have not identified a suspect.
