Coroner identifies woman shot to death in downtown Las Vegas

Updated October 11, 2017 - 2:11 pm

The Clark County coroner identified the woman shot and killed by her ex-partner last week in downtown Las Vegas.

Police said Daniela Rozada, 37, was shot in the head on Oct. 1 near East Bonanza Way and North Veterans Memorial Drive, less than a block from her home.

Before the shooting, Rozada was arguing with a man over the custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Angie. Police said the argument ended when the man fired multiple shots at Rozada and then fled the scene, leaving her for dead.

Police later identified the man as 36-year-old Eduardo Rozada-Tomayo.

After the shooting, police led a six-hour search for Rozada-Tomayo after he disappeared with their daughter. He eventually dropped the girl off at a family member’s home.

Rozada-Tomayo was stopped and arrested last week, Las Vegas police said. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
