1 man dead after shooting east of Las Vegas Strip

A shooting near the Strip left one man dead early Friday, Las Vegas police said.

Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Las Palmas Apartments, 3350 Paradise Road, near East Desert Inn Road.

Police and medical personnel found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died.

The man was at the apartment when a fight occurred between the victim and a suspect, who fled, police said. Evidence at the scene suggests that the shooting might have been narcotics-related, police added.

This is the 82nd homicide investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department in 2016. The Clark County coroner’s office will released the man’s identity once next of kin has been notified.

Anyone with information is urged to call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
