Henderson police investigating possible child abuse case

Henderson police are investigating possible child abuse after a boy was hospitalized last month.

Officers responded about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 28 to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center on reports of a child with possible child abuse-related injuries, Henderson police spokesman Rod Pena said.

A Clark County Department of Family Services report indicated the child was a 2-month-old boy in serious condition. Pena wouldn’t confirm the child’s current condition, citing an open case.

The report indicated the organization has no prior history with the boy’s family.

Detectives are investigating.
