Two hurt in gang-related shooting in southwest valley

Two men were wounded following a gang-related shooting near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard on Thursday night, Las Vegas police said.

Lt. Les Lane said shortly before 9 p.m. police were alerted to the shooting on the 4600 block of Pennwood Avenue, near Arville Street.

Two men were walking west on Penwood when they encountered three men outside of a home, Lane said. The two groups got into a verbal argument and the shooting ensued.

One victim was shot in the chest. The second was shot in the shoulder. Police did not release their identities.

Lane said both men were hospitalized, with one in stable condition Thursday night and the other in serious condition.
