Suspect in wife’s slaying set to be in court Monday

A 50-year-old Las Vegas man accused of killing his wife is expected to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court on Monday on one count of murder.

Mark Franta was arrested Wednesday in the slaying of his wife, Marybeth Franta, 49, a Molasky Junior High School science teacher.

Mark Franta is being held at the Clark County Detention Center on no bail.

Las Vegas police say video footage from two businesses is believed to show Mark Franta early Sunday morning near where his wife’s body was discovered, behind the Albertsons at Craig Road and Tenaya Way, in the northwest valley.
