Suspect accused of secretly filming girl, woman in bathroom

A 31-year-old registered sex offender was arrested this week, accused of secretly filming a girl in a bathroom and possessing child pornography, the Nye County sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

James Wesley Adams of Pahrump is accused of filming a 14-year-old girl and also a 38-year-old woman while they were in a bathroom of a manufactured home. An investigation into Adams’ actions also led to the discovery of more than 100 VHS tapes, photographs and printed pictures of underage girls in various stages of “undress and nudity.”

Police said they discovered Adams had set up a camera under the home which recorded a master bathroom area.

At one point, the bathroom was being used by the teenage girl and the woman, and the girl saw “fingers” through a hole in the floor. The woman then contacted the sheriff’s office.

Adams has been jailed on multiple recommended charges including peeping or peering with an electronic device and possession of child pornography. It was unclear whether he was arrested Monday or Tuesday.

More charges could be filed if additional unlawful acts are on other VHS tapes, the sheriff’s office said.
