Student with gun arrested at Cheyenne High

North Las Vegas police arrested a 14-year-old Cheyenne High School student Tuesday afternoon after they found an unloaded revolver in her backpack.

The girl is being held at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on charges related to having a firearm on school grounds, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest.

Officers were called to the school as classes were letting out because a fight had broken out among a group of students, police spokesman Tim Bedwell said. He said the girl was combative with officers and was taken into custody.
