Resident wounded in possible home invasion in northwest Las Vegas

Police say one person was shot by a masked suspect in a possible home invasion in the north valley Wednesday morning.

The man was treated by paramedics and then taken to University Medical Center.

It wasn’t immediately known whether his injuries were life-threatening.

The shooting happened about 9 a.m. in the 7500 block of Prancing Pony Court, near Jones Boulevard and Farm Road, police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

Meltzer said the incident might have been a home invasion, or the resident might have interrupted a burglary.

“The details are sketchy at this point,” she said.

The suspect was described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall and wearing dark clothing, including a black mask that covered his face.
