Puppies, birds stolen from businesses

Several puppies and exotic birds were stolen in two separate, but possibly related burglaries late Sunday night.

According to police, the first burglary was reported just before midnight in the 6800 block of South Rainbow Boulevard. Arriving officers discovered four high-price dogs were stolen from Prince and Princess Puppies & Boutique. The dogs were two white French bulldog puppies, a gray Schnauzer puppy and a black Yorkshire terrier puppy.

Approximately four hours later, a second incident was reported in the 6900 block of South Decatur Boulevard at Acrylic Tank Manufacturing. The suspects escaped with three macaws and one white and yellow cockatoo. The birds were personal pets and not for sale, police said.

Video surveillance of the burglaries shows two men in their late teens to early 20s. One was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, denim shorts and a white baseball hat. The other was wearing a light-colored long-sleeved shirt, light-colored athletic shorts and a white baseball hat.

Surveillance video can be viewed here.
