Police announce record methamphetamine bust

A law enforcement task force this week seized the largest amount of methamphetamine on record in Nevada after serving warrants in Las Vegas and Henderson, Las Vegas police said Wednesday.

Police did not disclose how much of the narcotic was seized, but plan to hold a 10 a.m. news conference today to detail the operation.

The Southern Nevada HIDTA task force, which stands for High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, is made up of police agencies from Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, the Nevada Highway Patrol and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The search warrants were served Tuesday.
