SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — A Nevada man’s arrest in four cold-case deaths in California has authorities scrambling to determine whether he is connected to killings in other states, including the notorious “Double Initial Murders” of three girls in upstate New York in the early 1970s.
Abdul Hamlan’s neighbors described him as a friendly but quiet man. The 52-year-old military contractor was shot and killed in the garage of his home by a Las Vegas police officer Tuesday after reportedly pointing a handgun at the officer.
Victor Fakoya was a free man. The Nigerian immigrant had spent two years in the Clark County jail, charged with a crime he steadfastly denied.
Prosecutors filed a new criminal complaint Friday adding a felony gun possession charge against one of the three airport technicians accused of stealing electronic gear.
