One critically injured in North Las Vegas double shooting

Police said one person was in critical condition after a double shooting in North Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon.

North Las Vegas police said the shooting occurred about 1 p.m. in the 2400 block of Morton Avenue, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue.

Two people, a boy, 16, and a man, 22, were in a sport utility vehicle in the parking lot of the Buena Vista Springs Apartments when the shooter approached on foot and fired on them.

The victims were taken to University Medical Center. The 22-year-old had life-threatening injuries; the teen is expected to recover, police said .
