Man shot in road-rage incident on I-80 dies from injuries

A 46-year-old Fernley man has died from injuries suffered in a road-rage shooting incident along Interstate 80 that remained under investigation in Sparks.

Sparks police said Devin Larry Churchill died on Saturday from injuries suffered in the Oct. 31 shooting.

Police have identified a 40-year-old Fernley man as a suspect in the shooting but no charges have been filed.

Investigators say the two men were traveling west on I-80 when the episode of road rage unfolded. Both drivers exited in Sparks at Vista Boulevard. That’s where police say the suspect produced a handgun and shot Churchill in the front torso.
