Las Vegas police seek suspect in woman’s stabbing death

A woman is dead after being beaten and stabbed early Sunday morning.

Officers discovered the woman severely bleeding and suffering from apparent stab wounds just after midnight Sunday in the 6300 block of Greyhawk Avenue, Las Vegas police said.

The woman was transported to University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The initial investigation by police indicates the woman got into a physical altercation with the suspect, which they said led to the stabbing.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.

The suspect has been identified by police as 27-year-old Nathan Benson. Benson is described as 5 feet 5 inches, and about 130 pounds.

Police say he has tattoos of skulls on his right upper arm and the numbers “702” on his upper left arm. Police describe Benson as armed and dangerous.

The investigation is ongoing.
