Las Vegas police seek boyfriend in woman’s beating death

A woman was found beaten to death early Friday morning at an apartment complex in the southeast valley.

Las Vegas police said the woman’s body was found at 2:35 a.m. at the Pacific Harbors apartment complex at 2967 Juniper Hills Drive, near Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive.

Homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said a man called authorities and said he returned to his apartment and found a large amount of blood inside.

The man who called police lived in the apartment, but was not a suspect, Roberts said. Officers followed the blood trail from the apartment to the bushes outside, where they found a woman’s body, he said.

Roberts said detectives are now looking for the woman’s boyfriend, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, 29.

Rodriguez is about 5 feet 8 and weighs about 140 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Homicide Section at 828-3521.
