Las Vegas police were investigating the slaying of a woman in the southeast valley Monday afternoon.

Police said a woman was found dead about 11:30 a.m. inside a store, Peru Post Etc., at the Tropicana Plaza Center, 3430 E. Tropicana Ave., near Pecos Road.

Investigators were seen going into and out of the store wearing gloves and shoe covers. They also searched a trash bin outside the business.

Police said the initial call was for a robbery, but more details were not released.
