Las Vegas motorcyclist dies after hitting wires

A 41-year-old Las Vegas man died after he lost control of his motorcycle Saturday night in the central valley, police said Sunday.

The man’s identity was not released.

Police said at 11:40 p.m. the man, riding a 2000 Harley Davidson, was going east on Bonanza Road when he drove off the roadway at the intersection of Seventh Street and into a vacant lot where he struck wires anchoring a power pole.

The man died at the scene.

The fatality marked the 12th traffic-related fatality under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Department in 2013.
