Las Vegas man shot, killed on Sunday identified

A man who died Sunday morning after he was discovered shot in the front yard of a central valley home was identified Monday by the Clark County coroner’s office as Julian Dimas-Covarrubias.

The coroner’s office said the Dimas-Covarrubias, 18, of Las Vegas died from gunshot wounds to his chest.

At 5:28 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1400 block of Ardmore Street, near Eastern Avenue and Oakey Boulevard, and found Dimas-Covarrubias.

He was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Police said they were searching for four Hispanic men who were last seen wearing dark clothes and driving a dark-colored Mitsubishi or Saturn vehicle.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction. There were no arrests in the shooting as of Monday afternoon.
