Four teens held in vandalism at Mojave High School

Four teenagers were arrested Wednesday morning in connection with vandalism at Mojave High School that caused an estimated $10,000 in damage, Clark County School District police said.

Lt. Ken Young said the vandalism occurred about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at the North Las Vegas school, 5302 Goldfield Street, near Washburn Road.

Young said four male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, broke into the school.

They broke windows and doors, dismantled offices and spray painted walls.

Police got word of the break-in when a North Las Vegas resident called 911 after finding some items near her home.

That call began the vandalism investigation, Young said.

The suspects, one of whom was a Mojave student, were booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

They face the recommended charges of burglary and malicious destruction of property.
