Doctor sentenced for illegally distributing drugs

A former Las Vegas-based physician who used his pain management clinic in northwest Arizona to illegally distribute prescription drugs is going to prison.

Dr. Albert Yeh, 47, was sentenced to 2½ years Friday.

Yeh pleaded guilty in January to fraudulent scheme, illegal control of an enterprise and money laundering. Under terms of the deal, Yeh surrenders his licenses to practice medicine in Nevada and Arizona.

Yeh is required to pay restitution of $683,000 and forfeit $2 million worth of personal property under terms of the plea agreement. He will serve five years of probation after his prison sentence.

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne issued a statement crediting investigators for putting the Golden Valley pain management clinic and Yeh out of business. “This medical predator is now, fortunately, out of business,” Horne said.
